Hands-on, proficiency-based fiber optic training at our facility in Minden, Nevada — designed for technicians of all experience levels. Courses cover fiber optic fundamentals and connectorization through fusion splicing, OTDR troubleshooting, and certification prep. Students work with live equipment, build real-world skills, and leave ready to install, maintain, and troubleshoot fiber optic networks in the field. Led by an instructor with more than 30 years of experience across commercial, industrial, utility, and military programs worldwide.
Training Program
One signature core course — our 3-day hands-on program — supported by optional add-on courses for teams that want to go deeper in specific skills. All delivered at the PCWC facility in Minden, Nevada. Classes limited to 12 students.

OUR TEACHING PHILOSOPHY
All courses at PCWC are taught with a proficiency-based approach. No student advances until they demonstrate mastery at each checkpoint — and all students receive additional class time at no charge until proficiency is achieved. Hours in a classroom aren't the measure of success. Demonstrated skill is.

Dan has been a leading fiber optic trainer since 1996, when he began developing and delivering fiber optic and high-speed copper certification
programs for Lucent Technologies. Over the past three decades, he has trained technicians, supervisors, inspectors, engineers, and military
personnel across the United States and internationally — helping contractors, utilities, telecommunications providers, government
agencies, and military organizations develop the technical expertise required to build, maintain, and troubleshoot modern communications
networks. His courses are recognized by BICSI and award CEUs that meet and exceed industry, government, and military training requirements.
What distinguishes Dan's training is the combination of technical expertise and practical experience he brings to the classroom. His background spans hands-on fiber optic installation, network consulting, testing and troubleshooting, and curriculum development — which means students aren't just taught procedures, they're taught to think through the problems they'll actually face in the field.
Whether teaching fiber optic fundamentals, fusion splicing, certification testing, or OTDR analysis, Dan's goal is to equip every student with the knowledge and confidence to perform at a professional level.
