PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Fortifiber, which invented the modern weather-resistive barrier for buildings in the 1960’s, manufactures and distributes its moisture barrier and energy efficiency building products at the Fernley facility.

In addition to providing 40% of Fortifiber’s electricity requirements at its Fernley facility, the PV solar installation generateS an amount of electricity equivalent to the amount needed to power 88 homes and will deliver over 1 million tons of CO2 offsets per year.

 

Hamilton Solar, another Nevada solar company, based in Reno, engineered the installation and Blue Oak Energy, a leading engineering and construction company specializing in large-scale solar facilities, was the project manager. Vasko Electric, based in Sacramento, California and with offices in Reno, provided installation and electrical contracting services.
